What to Expect

Before Your First Appointment
Solid Ground Psychiatry is part of the Here Completely collective, a growing group of independent counsellors, psychologists and psychiatrists that share office suites and waiting rooms across Levels 7 and 8 of the Dymocks Building on George Street in the CBD. The Solid Ground Psychiatry clinic is located on Level 8.
The clinic reception team operates off-site and is available by phone, 9 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday. There is no face-to-face reception.

On your arrival to Level 8, the Here Completely waiting room is located to the left of the lifts. Press the switch next to Dr Crowder's name to alert her of your arrival.
During Your First Appointment
Dr Crowder will invite you to discuss your current difficulties at your own pace, and will ask you questions about your personal, medical, and psychological histories to better understand your challenges.

At your first appointment, her focus will be on understanding your current functioning and personal recovery goals, rather than on diagnosis, though this may be explored later.
The goal will be to begin working together on strategies to reduce your symptoms, improve your function, and help you feel more satisfied with life. This goal may be advanced by talk therapy, medication, or both.

After Your First Appointment
Dr Crowder will make recommendations for follow-up, which may include seeing another health professional, like a psychologist, for structured therapy to address a specific psychological condition. If she recommends ongoing care with her, reception staff can assist you with future appointments. A summary of her assessment and treatment plan will be sent to your GP.

The credit or debit card that you supplied at the time of booking will be charged the full session fee after your appointment. The Medicare rebate is usually processed within a few hours, though it may take up to 1–3 business days to appear in your account.
