As a small, low-volume practice, we’re regrettably unable to offer routine bulk billing. However, Centrelink recipients are eligible for a reduced fee for their first appointment.
We also offer reduced fees for clients referred by their local Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS), in support of the Close the Gap movement.
If you don’t fall into one of the above groups but are experiencing financial hardship, please let us know. We can discuss possible options together, including instalment payments.
If you’re seeking help but are unsure whether private care is right for you, you can also self-refer to your local Community Mental Health Service, which provides free psychiatric care to eligible people. To reach your local service, call the 24-hour Mental Health Line.
Yes.
Dr Crowder sees patients aged 18 and over. However, she encourages young adults to first consider seeing a psychiatrist working within a multidisciplinary team that specialises in supporting children, adolescents, young adults and their families. These teams typically include psychiatrists with sub-specialist training in youth mental health, and they routinely work with the whole family.
Dr Crowder is an adult psychiatrist. While she strongly encourages the involvement of carers in a patient’s treatment, she does not typically work with all members of the family.
If you need immediate support, please visit the Crisis Supports page on this website for information about free, 24-hour services available to you now.
This practice operates by appointment only, during limited business hours, and is not equipped to manage emergencies.
Solid Ground Psychiatry operates within the Here Completely suite, a shared space occupied by independent mental health practitioners. While the practitioners co-share office space and a common waiting area, there is no on-site reception desk. Each practitioner manages their own practice independently.
Our team consists of a psychiatrist, a practice manager, and three rotating receptionists. While our administrative staff are based off-site, they are available to support you Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, via phone or email. One of our receptionists is always available during business hours to assist with appointments, billing, rescheduling, and general enquiries.
Dr Crowder isn't able to provide ongoing care to patients who are already under the regular care of another psychiatrist for specific medications or treatments.
Additionally, Dr Crowder is unable to provide second opinions or any psychiatric services for people being currently supported by a public community mental health service. She is happy to take over care once a person has been discharged from the public service but does not share care with NSW Health.
No.
Dr Crowder is a community-based, outpatient psychiatrist. If you are admitted to a public or private hospital, your inpatient care will be managed by a psychiatrist with admitting rights to that facility. After discharge, you are welcome to return to her for continued outpatient treatment.
The psychiatrist will communicate with your designated carer or next of kin in an emergency, and otherwise, only with your consent. We ask that all patients nominate a next of kin or carer who can be contacted if serious clinical concerns arise.
However, the regular involvement of a loved one in your assessment and treatment, with your explicit consent, can be highly beneficial to your recovery and is encouraged.
With your consent, we may also communicate with:
Public and private hospitals
Community mental health and public health services
Your general practitioner (GP)
Other medical specialists involved in your care
Your psychologist or therapist
