Crisis Supports

This is a 24/7 statewide phone service, staffed by trained mental health professionals who:

• ask you questions to understand your needs

• offer mental health advice

• complete a brief assessment

• make recommendations for appropriate care​

Crisis supporters can speak with you by phone, text or online chat, offering:

• short-term, confidential support if you’re feeling overwhelmed, or having difficulty staying safe

• a listener without judgement

• a safe space to discuss your needs, worries or concerns

• assistance with exploring your options for support.

• an option to text 0477 13 11 14 if you don't want to talk on the phone

This is a nationwide service providing phone and online chat and video counselling to people:

• at risk of suicide

• concerned about someone at risk

• bereaved by suicide, and

• people experiencing emotional or mental health issues.

Beyond Blue offers a host of services including:​

• free, brief, confidential counselling via online chat 

• an online peer support community chat forum

• six free sessions with a mental health coach if you're stressed or overwhelmed about everyday life and you’re not currently seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist.

Jewish House operates a 24/7 phone service which offers support for people (of any faith) experiencing a crisis, such as drug and alcohol addiction, suicidal thoughts, domestic violence and homelessness. ​​

The first national crisis support line for mob who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping. They offer a confidential one-on-one yarning opportunity with a Lifeline-trained Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporter who will listen without judgement.

This is a confidential national sexual assault, family and domestic violence counselling line for any Australian who has experienced, or is at risk of, family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault.

Offering guidance and support for your (or someone else's) alcohol or drug use.  The service is available to all residents of NSW and includes:

• brief telephone counselling and support

• referrals to other services in NSW

• information about alcohol and other drugs

• an alternative number for Sydney Metro at 02 8382 1000

• someone is seriously injured

• someone is in need of urgent medical help
